Read the reviews, read return policy, and purchase knowing what you are buying. Don't fall for marketing. Because here I am sitting and writing this review instead enjoying my new lights.
The app is infantile. Horrible UX. No portrait mode, no split screen support in both iPad and iPhone. Nice selection of the dynamic themes(and this and upsale store probably the only features that work there), but impossible to create theme with static lights. Why!? No automation via the app?
It is not that difficult to create proper mobile app. What you have right now not even passes MVP for smart lights.
HomeKit/Matter integration also horrible: Impossible to set the theme in Home App on the first attempt. Or even on the second attempt for that matter. It keeps failing when you try to activate it. Lights cannot be set to the same color twice. I mean, you configure the theme, next time you turn it on, the color or random number of lights is not what theme color is. It's like you can chose between brightness or color, but not both.
Sometime you try to set color manually and it is not what it should be. You set it to Yellow and it's green
$150, thankfully, is not a big loss for me, and I'm not going to further waste my time with this. I'll keep the bulbs and use them as expensive "dumb" lights.
Dear Nanoleaf support team, before you tell me how sorry you are to hear about my bad experience, and will ask me to contact support to "fix my specific issues", read all one star reviews here, and try to understand that the issues are not specific, they are systematic. You will "regain my trust in your brand" by fixing those issues.
