Flickers

The lights are great when they work. 90% of the time they’re flickering. This is something that I’ve brought up with customer support and all they have given me is steps to reset but it doesn’t work. I would say if you thought these would be better than the Govee, they’re not. The flickering makes it impossible to make any sort of content unenjoyable.

Ouch - I’d give 0 stars but there isn’t an option

I’ve been trying for about 3 weeks to get my new Nanoleaf 4D to work and stick to the back of my tv. Unfortunately I can’t do either one. I’ve been in contact with customer service, and while they have been great, nothing has worked. I was previously told to wait for a firmware update …. However this thing should work when it comes out of the box. Since then, I’ve tried multiple attempts to connect, reconnect, sync and etc but nothing is working. I really do want do want to send this unit back. Ouch Nanolef.

Product was DOA and needed to be replaced by warranty. Setting that up today, though the set up / pairing process is not easy.

I also have other products of theirs (14 element hexagon panels and 9 lines). I just took down my lines because they are unusable - factory resetting them fails too.

Overall these products are /super/ cool - when they work. However, I have lots of problems with them not working and randomly becoming unreachable. It’s not a wifi problem, as I don’t have issues on any other devices connected to wifi. I was borderline on ordering these, but I’ll probably purchase from Philips or a different vendor than Nanoleaf again due to unreliability.

Not a good fit for big TV's ?

I have 2 TV's with Govee TV backlight that I am very happy with. A 75" and a 55" and they both work flawlessly.
I just installed an 82" TV and was looking at the Nanoleaf reviews, which made it look like an upgrade over Govee.
I bought the kit that should fit up to an 85" TV and indeed, the quality and fit were very good. That was the only part I was happy with.
Trying to set it up - the camera can't see the whole TV. I used the white screen with green squares and tried to place the camera in both top and bottom positions, but the field of view is too limited for a TV that big and it affects the performance in a negative way:
1. you can't really get the adjustment to the edge (or close to the edge) of the TV. Not even to the boundaries of a 16:9 movie, which makes the 4D effects useless.
2. Since you can't identify the boarders properly, the colors never match the edge of the video, and just look like a mess.

I ended up leaving it and just using 1 solid color as a backlight. I am VERY disappointed and pretty sure the Nanoleaf product is just not a good fit for a big TV. I will not recommend it just as a background light since you need to manually turn it ON and OFF unlike any other cheap Amazon backlight that can be triggered by a USB input/output from the back of the TV.
When I have the time, I will replace it with a Govee TV backlight since it worked great on my 75".
