I’m limited to basic preset patterns and colors due to the device not connecting to the app. Tech support has not helped fix the problem. They mentioned some router settings that aren’t even an option/found. I didn’t see anywhere that very specific router settings would be required before purchase. Can’t connect to the device WiFi “Shapes…” and the internet network can’t recognize the device. Tech has also not answered about replacing the controller, after mentioning it. A simple Bluetooth connection instead of WiFi would be nice, or just make the WiFi connect easier without specialized and technical router settings I’ve never heard of or seen. My Govee lights and app work just fine. Nanoleaf Shapes app is unusable since it’s WiFi only and Tech support takes a week or more to respond. No option for phone support. Very inefficient. Very expensive for it to be so basic and boring with preset colors, yet complicated and not user friendly. One panel already discolored within a few days when connected directly to the controller and tried to cycle through patterns. Tech said they’d replace it, disappeared for a week, and I had to ask again. Still no WiFi fix after our building tech help could not find the specialized router settings Nanoleaf said to change - Shapes still not discoverable. No Nanoleaf tech response. Can’t recommend.
