Solid build but software issues

Setting up and installing the lights wasn't very hard. Controlling in homekit is straightforward, but about every week I have to go unplug it for a few seconds and plug it back in because it goes unresponsive. Sadly an issue with most of my nanoleaf products. I had to put it on a smart plug so I can go through the song and dance remotely. Other than that they are bright enough for my use and the look and build seems very sturdy enough for being outside. I will have to wait and see how the plastics last long term. Not sure I would recommend due to the connection issues. Maybe a V2

Good hardware terrible software

Lights often disconnect from Nanoleaf app and Google home. Hue lights never have this problem.

Product is very flakey

Managed to get them connected, but then something wasn't working in HomeKit and now I can't add them to my home at all. HomeKit claims they already belong to a home. They also spontaneous left the "Backyard" room they were setup in and now show up in "default room", something that must have been created automatically. There is no way to move them to the correct room. So that's irritating. But even more irritating is the fact that turning them on and off with the Nanoleaf app doesn't work well at all. I click the on/off button 4 or 5 times with nothing happening at all. Then eventually I get a message that the device is unreachable. The device is literally only a few feet from a WiFi access point. Without changing a thing the next click works. If you aren't watching the lights, you can never be sure if it worked when you try to turn them on or off. I may be in the house out of sight of the lights and I want to turn them off for the night. I can only do this reliably when they are in sight so I know it worked, so it is a bit of a nuisance.
